Comparison
QIDI Max4 vs Creality K2 Plus: 390 mm Scale vs a More Compact 350 mm Platform
Compare QIDI Max4 and Creality K2 Plus by build volume, active chamber temperature, nozzle limits, speed, machine footprint, multicolor systems and engineering-material workflow.
Quick decision: choose QIDI Max4 when the larger 390 × 390 × 340 mm build envelope and 65 °C active chamber solve a real part-size or engineering-material constraint. Choose Creality K2 Plus when a still-large 350 mm cube is enough and the smaller 495 × 515 × 640 mm chassis or CFS ecosystem is the better fit.
| Constraint | QIDI Max4 | Creality K2 Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Build volume | 390 × 390 × 340 mm | 350 × 350 × 350 mm |
| Printer dimensions | 558 × 578 × 612 mm | 495 × 515 × 640 mm |
| Net weight | 40 kg | 35 kg |
| Max nozzle | 370 °C | 350 °C |
| Max bed | 120 °C | 120 °C |
| Active chamber | Up to 65 °C | Up to 60 °C |
| Published max toolhead speed | 800 mm/s | 600 mm/s |
| Multi-material path | QIDI Box compatible | CFS compatible |
Build envelope is the first hard filter
Max4 adds 40 mm in X and Y over K2 Plus, while K2 Plus is 10 mm taller in Z. That difference matters only if your real parts use it. Put your largest STL/STEP bounding box into the slicer before paying for a physically larger printer.
Max4 publishes the higher chamber and nozzle ceilings
QIDI lists a 370 °C print head and independent chamber heating up to 65 °C. Creality lists a 350 °C nozzle and active chamber heating up to 60 °C. Those numbers improve the paper case for demanding materials, but the filament manufacturer's drying, nozzle, bed and chamber requirements still control the real workflow.
Speed headlines are not throughput guarantees
QIDI publishes up to 800 mm/s and 30,000 mm/s²; Creality publishes up to 600 mm/s and the same maximum acceleration class. Actual throughput depends on volumetric flow, layer height, geometry, cooling and material. Compare representative sliced jobs rather than ranking machines by toolhead speed alone.
The larger QIDI also demands more installation planning
QIDI lists a 558 × 578 × 612 mm printer footprint and recommends extra clearance for filament changes, ventilation and cooling. K2 Plus is listed at 495 × 515 × 640 mm. Include doors, top clearance, feeder boxes and service access before deciding either machine fits a bench.
Multi-material is an ecosystem decision
Both platforms support dedicated feeder ecosystems. Compare spool compatibility, drying behavior, purge waste, number of materials you actually use, replacement parts and slicer workflow—not just maximum color count.
Decision rule
- QIDI Max4: larger XY work, higher published nozzle/chamber ceilings and QIDI Box path are genuine constraints you will use.
- Creality K2 Plus: 350 mm cube already covers your parts and you prefer the smaller chassis or CFS ecosystem.
- Neither: if your real parts fit a 250–300 mm machine, compare total system cost before paying for unused build volume.
